Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma to the Urinary Bladder after Radical Nephrectomy
Kim Jung-Hoon

Myung Soon-Chul
Abstract
We report a case of metastatic renal cell carcinoma to the urinary bladder. A 61-year-old man presented with gross hematuria. The patient had been treated with a radical nephrectomy at 59 years of age, for renal cell carcinoma. Cystoscopy revealed two polyploid tumors protruding into to the urinary bladder. A transurethral resection was performed and the pathological diagnosis of the lesion in the urinary bladder was a renal cell carcinoma. Metastases to the paratracheal lymph nodes were confirmed on the chest computed tomography. The patient was treated with immunotherapy(5-fluorouracil, interferon-a, interleukin-2) for 20 weeks. Eleven months later, the patient is alive and well. (Korean J Urol 2007; 48:1088-1091)
